About Rough Edges:
Lockdown 2020 got me sifting through old unreleased beats in my iTunes library, compiling this comprehensive 33-track archive album of unheard, unreleased works from 2009-2015. A time when I was mostly layering dreamy samples and shimmering synths with a boombap backbone.

Some songs from this period made it onto 2012's Dulcet EP but the rest were stored away on a hard drive whilst I lacked the confidence or conviction to finish, share and move on. Now with the benefit of hindsight and a newfound sense of momentum following Internal Shlurpee, I present to you these rough edges.

I posted (almost) one a day on Instagram (@bertverso) during the covid pandemic, making videos for archive songs, and collaborating with other video makers to offer up their own rough edges of work to pair with beats from the vault. Go check it out, enjoy this collection of beats and, now that I have a clean slate, watch out for brand new music coming soon.
